IMPHAL, May 12: A 14 member team consisting of journalist and DIPR officials led by DIPR, jt director A Balkrishna Sharma left Imphal today for a 15 days long tour wherein the team will visit Delhi and Rajasthan. The step has been taken up by the state government so that the state mediapersons could observe and report to the people of the state on the living lifestyle and various development works taken up by the state governments of the respective states.
The team was seen off by addl director, DIPR, Kengoo Zuringla this morning at around 10 am from the state DIPR complex.
One of the DIPR staff who identified himself as P Rajen while speaking to this IFP reporter during their see off stated that the team will stop at Dimapur today and leave for New Delhi tomorrow at around 12:20 pm by a train from the Dimapur Railway station.
He further stated, “During their stay at the national capital, the team will meet the DoNER minister and could also meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh even though it is not yet officially confirmed.”
In the meantime it may be mentioned that the state planning department had earlier organized a media tour to Mizoram wherein the participating media persons had published news reports on the various developmental works taken up in Mizoram including the wine factory and condition of agriculture, horticulture etc.
The tour has been sponsored by the state government and organized by the DIPR.
The team will reach Imphal on May 26.
