Imphal, Dec 10: The 37 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector under HQ IGAR(S) conducted free HIV screening and counseling for 175 villagers and Medical screening of 50 students including girls at primary school of Joupi village in Samtal Salient, Chandel district. Joupi is one of the remote villages near Indo – Myanmar border, basic medical facilities are not available in this region.
The medical staff of 37 Assam Rifles treated more than 75 students for upper respiratory tract, ear and skin infection. A Medical record of all students of the school is being maintained and will be periodically monitored by the medical staff of 37 Assam Rifles, to ensure good health of the students and on the same occasion Stationary & CSD items were also distributed to the students.
The Doctor delivered a lecture on personal and Oral hygiene to school students and teaching staff. Villagers and the teaching staff have expressed their deep gratitude to Assam Rifles for looking after the school children and imbibing in them, the important aspect of health and hygiene.
