IMPHAL, Feb 15: Claiming that the various discrepancies were found during comparison of photos with the electoral roll of Tamei (ST) ac on February 12, All India Trinamool Congress candidate of the constituency DP Panmei has demanded re-poll in 57 polling stations of the constituency.
In a press statement, the AITC candidate has stated that during photo comparison of the electors of the constituency on February 12 by the election commission, many young girls were found to have voted for men (old boys), boys and girls below 18 years were found to have voted for elderly persons and women for men and vice versa.
The statement has further informed that Naga People’s Front had lodged a complaint with the Chief election Commissioner, government of India for re-polling at 43 polling stations while the Trinamool Congress has lodged a complaint for re-polling at 28 polling stations of Tamei ac.
The candidate has further demanded the polling officials to be penalized for allowing rampant proxy voting and impersonation which amounts to gross dereliction of duties as polling officials.
The statement has as such demanded re-poll in 57 polling stations of Tamei ac.
