30 Assam Rifles donated four Computers and three Solar Lights to Orphanage and Children Home, Langol on 22 February 2012.The items were handed over by Commander 9 Sector AR in a simple ceremony organised at Children home. Speaking on the occasion Commander 9 Sector lauded the efforts the Orphanage and expressed hope that the contributions of Assam Rifles will help the children in acquiring computer skills and improve the level of education which will go a long way in making them better citizens of the country.
In another occasion, 28 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector AR under HQ IGAR(S) donated six Solar Lights, rations and stationeries to Sadan Sewa Maring village under AR Military Civic Action Project. Commander 9 Sector AR graced the occasion. Speaking on the occasion commander 9 Sector stressed upon the importance of good relations between the Armed Forces and local populace. He emphasized that Assam Rifles would continue to strive for the welfare and security of the people and it will always endeavour to safeguard the fundamental rights and cultural sanctity of Manipur.
Similarly, 23 Assam Rifles of 10 Sector presented computers and furniture to Sun Ridge Academy, Nongdam Tanghkhul village under ARMCA project on 21 Feb 12.
