Imphal, Mar 5: 23 Assam Rifles of 10 Sector under HQ IGAR(South) distributed drinking water to the villagers of Shangshak Phunghon village on 05 Mar 2012. The villagers of Shangshak Phunghon village are facing acute shortage of drinking water due to non availability of water from natural sources.
37 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector under HQ IGAR(South) presented 11 Solar street Lights to New Molanghat village under “OP SADHBHAVANA PROJECT” on 05 Mar 12 at New Molanghat of Chandel District on Indo – Myanmar border.. Installation of solar lights will pave way for overall development of the village.
46 Assam Rifles of 27 Sector under the aegis of HQ IGAR (S) donated PA Equipments under the Assam Rifles Military Civic Action Programme to Sunday School of Evangelical Baptist Church (EBC) at Pearsonmun Village in Churachandpur District on 05 March 2012. The The villagers expressed their deep gratitude to the Security Forces for having met their long outstanding requirement.
39 Assam Rifles under the aegis of “Red Shield Division” donated Solar Lanterns and Sintex Tanks to Hiangjang and Zou Khunou villages under Op Sadbhavana on 04 Mar 2012. The villagers are located in remote areas which lacks basic amenities like Water Supply and electricity.
Red Shield Division constructed a Computer Laboratory at Primary & Junior High School, Kanto Khullen village for the benefit of students, and distribution of computer training certificates and books to various schools around Leimakhong.
The General Officer Commanding, 57 Mountain Division in his concluding speech exhorted the youths to exploit the rich potential and culture of Manipur State. He requested the youth to come forward to utilize these facilities and enhance their quality of living and work towards peace and prosperity.
28 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector HQ IGAR(S) in association with 14 Mobile Field Veterinary Hospital organized free veterinary camp at Pangkong Makhong Naharup on 05 Mar 2012. More than 200 livestock from the nearby villages were administered free vaccination and treatment during the camp. The veterinary camp was inaugurated by Commandant 28 Assam Rifles and on this occasion he reiterated the Assam Rifles pledge to give all out assistance to the local people. On this occasion village authorities, prominent dignitaries of the area and local populace were present in the event.
