In a joint operation based on specific information 22 Assam Rifles under the aegis of the Red Shield Division alongwith Manipur Police Commandos apprehended one cadre of United National Liberation Front (UNLF) from general area Hilghat. The apprehendee was identified as SS Sgt Maj Sagolsem Pamuba @ Surchandra, s/o S Manichandra Singh, r/o Sorok Atingbi Leikai, Jiribam. The apprehendee was handed over to Jiribam Police Station. In another operation, 43 Assam Rifles of the Division apprehended one cadre of KLA from general area vill Thangkanphai, Saikul. The apprehendee was identified as SS Cpl Thangminlal Khongsai @ Ronny Kuki, s/o Thangngam Khongsai, r/o Tulbung, Churachandpur. The apprehendee tried to interrupt the polling at Ekou Mulam by firing in air to terrorise people alongwith one associate namely SS Pvt Crogin Paite @ Mangneo. The individual was handed over to Police Station Imphal West.
