IMPHAL, March 24: A two-day free medical camp and routine immunization programme was organized at four remote border villages of Yangoubung, T. Bungmol, Ch. Tengnoupal and Chonjang in Chandel district about 35 km from Moreh town on March 21 to 22.

The medical camp assisted by Moreh Block Chiefs’ Association and guided by social activist Yamthang Mate was carried out under the leadership of Dr S Priyokumar, Medical-in-charge, PHC Moreh and District Immunization Officer, DIO, and Medical Officer Ayush Dr Kh Shantikumar along with 10 staffs from PHC Moreh.

The medical team provided free treatment to 452 patients and distributed medicines to them and over 70 children who have not been able to get any kind of vaccination from the time they were born received proper immunization during the camp, Dr Priyokumar said in a statement on Saturday.

The DIO Moreh also expressed heartfelt gratitude to all who participated and extended a helping hand in smooth conduct of the free medical camp.
