Imphal. June 8 MNS NNN : An active member of the banned Peoples’ Revolutionary Party
of Kangleipak (PREPAK) (Pro), a militant outfit operating in Manipur, who was involved in the bomb blast at the residence of Y.Ningthem,project director of Manipur Development Society, was nabbed by a team of Imphal West police commandos from Chingmeirong Maning Leikai and Kabo Leikai area on Friday at around 3:00 a.m., said additional superintendent of police (ASP) (Ops), Imphal West, Ishak Shah at commando complex, Imphal.
The ASP said that on receiving credible information about the presence of some members of PREPAK (Pro) in the general area of Chingmeirong Maning Leikai and Kabo Leikai, teams of commandoes of Imphal West police conducted cordon and search operation in which one person was detained for verification.
On verification, the person was identified as Naoroibam Sanajaoba Singh (35) s/o N. Chaoba Singh of Heinang Awang Leikai, at present staying at Chingmeirong Maning Leikai.
He is reported to have disclosed that he joined PREPAK (Pro) through one Amarjit (37) s/o (L) Lukhoi Singh of Achanbigei in 2010 and has been working under one captain Chamba and sergeant major Chingsanglakpa of PREPAK (Pro).
He also reportedly revealed that he himself exploded one hand grenade at the residence Y. Ningthem at Mantripukhri Lamlongei on June 3 at around 7:00 p.m. as instructed by captain Champa of PREPAK (Pro)
for not responding to their monetary demand. He further revealed that the crime was committed using his Hyundai i10 car, which is white in colour, bearing registration no.MN06 L-4840.
Sanajaoba further revealed that he was given Rs.10,000 by captain Chamba for committing the crime.
It may be recalled that three persons were injured in the blast at the residence of Y.Ningthem at Mantripukhri Lamlongei, and the blast was condemned and protested by the people of that locality.

Imphal. June 8 MNS / NNN: Adding to the crimes against women in Manipur, a young girl of 21 years was raped in a restaurant after being drugged.
The victim of the heinous crime Roma (name changed) narrated to media persons that she was contacted through mobile phone by the culprit Sanajam Bocha (27) s/o (L) Iboton of Yumnam Khunou Awang Leikai, under Heinang police station, Imphal East district about 4 / 5 months ago introducing himself as Prem from Uripok, Imphal West district, a personnel of Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB).
Roma said that she was picked up from near her house on June 5 on a first date by Bocha and taken to the Taj Café at Mantripukhri Chumbreithong, where she was given a bottle of water which was drugged. After regaining consciousness, she found that her gold ornaments were removed from her hands and neck and she was left at Khuria area by Bocha, said the victim.
She was found in a dazed state by women folk of the area and was taken to the hospital for medical check up and treatment where she was confirmed to be drugged and raped.
A case has been taken up in this connection by Lamlai police station and the culprit who is still absconding is being hunted down by the police.
The Taj Café has been closed indefinitely by women civil organizations who have condemned the heinous crime and expressed apprehension that it is no longer safe for young girls to move around.
