MNS: On 09 Jun 12, based on specific information, 33 Assam Rifles of the Loktak Brigade under the aegis of Red Shield Division launched an operation in general area Wangu of Bishnupur Dist. At about10.30 PM, the vehicle check post on road Wangu-Sagang intercepted two suspects on a Black Pulsar Motorcycle. The suspects on seeing the security personnel, accelerated their motorcycle and the pillion rider opened fire on the AR personnel who retaliated and killed a person. The individual has been identified as a cadre of KCP (Noyon) namely Salam Nanao Singh, s/o of Salam Birachandra Singh, r/o Laingoubi Maning Leikai, Kumbi PS, District Bishnupur. One 9 mm Pistol, three fired cases, one live round of 9 mm magazine and one extortion demand note were recovered from the slain terrorist. Taking advantage of the darkness, the motorcycle rider fled towards Sagang area
