The eight death anniversary of Thangjam Manorama organized by Manorama memorial trust committee was held at Pureiromba community Hall, Bamon Kampu today.
Speaking on the occasion, Th. Iboyaima, president of Irawat Foundation said, the incident of Manorama will remain forever in the history of Manipur. The AFSPA has been imposing in NE states in order to suppress the people. It is a black law used by British against India. After the independence of India, the India govt. again imposed in Manipur. We should remember the responsibilities of Manorama and Chittaranjan. They have become general in the battle. Although we have agitated against the act, the govt. did not withdraw it so far.
