Imphal, July 12: Protests were held at Kakching against burning of two vehicles. Two vehicles were burnt by suspected militants last evening on national highway no 102 near Moreh, Chandel district. Raising the matter at the state Assembly today, L Ibomcha said the Home Minister should look into the matter as the NSCN(IM) was suspected to be involved in the incident.
Heavily armed persons had stopped the two vehicles and burnt it. Police said a Tata Sumo and one Bolero were completely burnt . Beside the two vehicles goods worth about Rs 50 lakhs which were in the two vehicles were also destroyed in the fire.
.L Ibomcha said the state Home department should also take up proper actions as the United Naga council has threatened to call strike in Naga areas from July 23 next.
