Three women and another one-year-old girl were wounded in a bomb attack at the residence of a Gram Panchayat Pradhan at Khurai Laishram Leikai, Imphal East last night.
The injured are identified as Rojita, 27, Ashalata, 32 and Hendy, 11 and a one year-old girl. They are now undertaking treatment at Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) here. They are stated to be out of danger as they sustained minor injuries in the blast.
Bomb was triggered by suspected militants who came driving a two wheeler in red colour when they threw the bomb at the residence of Gram Panchayat Pradhan Yendrembam Jiten around 9:30 in the evening. The assailants fled the scene after the attack.It is also said that all the injured are relatives of the Pradhan.A local meira paibi (women activists) leader made an appealed through the media that such incident should not be repeated in future and said the concerned organization or individuals involved in the blast should clarify on it.
