Imphal, Aug 9 : The Manipur Library Association (MALA), Imphal in collaboration with the State Central Library, Imphal, Department of Art and Culture, Government of Manipur will organise the Library Day Celebration-2012 Cum Ranganathan Memorial Lecture on Sunday, the 12th August, 2012 synchronising with the 120th Birth. Anniversary of Prof. S.R. Ranganathan, the Father of Library Movement in India at the premises of the State Central Library, Imphal at 1:45 PM.Shri Nongthombam Kunjamohon Singh, Tagore Literature Awardee , Prof. Amar Yumnam, Dean , School of Social Sciences, Manipur University and Smt. S. Tampakleima Devi, Chief Librarian, State Central Library, Imphal will grace the occasion as Chief Guest, President and Guest of Honour respectively. As a part of the Celebration, Shri Saratchand Thiyam, noted writer and Sahitya Academy Awardee will deliver this years’ Ranganathan Memorial Lecture on the topic: Development Of Language And Literature Through Library. A book entitled Manipurgee Itihasta Mayengbam Anandamohan is also being released on the occasion. The book published by the Association and edited by its President Shri N.
Inaocha Singh is a compilation of the seminar papers contributed by different persons in the Seminar organised by the Association on 30th April, 2012 synchronising with the closing of the Birth Centenary Celebration of Shri Late Anandamohon Singh.
