MNS: 18 SIKH of 9 Sector under HQ IGAR(S) saved life of snake bite victim on 11 Aug 12. Smt Kuncharasi, 52yrs ,r/o Irom Siphai village bitten by a venomous snake was brought to the Unit Hospital in a critical condition and was immediately attended by Medical officer who administered life saving anti snake venom.
In another occasion, the medical team of 27 Assam Rifles of 28 Sector under HQ IGAR(South) saved the life of a 40 years old lady, Laishram Mema, r/o Mangjing Village, District – Bishnupur Kamla, bitten by a venomous snake on 10 Aug 12. The victim was brought to the Unit Hospital in a critical condition and was immediately attended by Medical officer who administered life saving anti snake venom and her condition was stabled. The victim is in stable condition and kept under observation, later she was evacuated to RIMS Hospital, Imphal for further management.
Similarly, 37 Assam Rifles of 28 Sector under HQ IGAR(S) organized a medical camp at Aibol Joupi and Hollengjang villages of Chandel district on 10 Aug 12. The medical camp was conducted by a team of medical officers and paramedical staff of the Unit. More than 400 patients from Aibol Joupi, Hollengjang and adjoining villages were benefited from the camp. An interactive session was also organised with the villagers and they were educated about various seasonal diseases and its precautionary measures.
