Imphal, Aug 31: The term “SAIINIT’ is an observance of remembering the death of their love and dear ones who have unfortunately meet unnatural and untimely death. It is a customary and traditional event of the Kuki community observing from ancestor since time immemoral.
Kuki Inpi Manipur is all set to observe “SAHNIT NIKHO” on the 13th September, 2012 (the day in which highest casualty/killing of innocent people being a Kuki indentiry by the NSCN-IM way back in 1993) under the banner of “mass prayer for peace, love and security”, The observance would beheld at different Churches and villages and at any convenient places under the aegis of Lhangpi Kuki Inpi (District), Lhang Kuki Inpi (Block) and Social Organisations etc. On this day of Sahnit, every household shall hoist Black Flag (Sahnit flag) and all people have to remain indoor of their respective home in respect of the depart soul by refraining from their daily routine works and entertainment programme.
Kuki Inpi Manipur (Apex body) appealed to all the Kuki people to refrain from their daily duty chores and participate in the said observance.
The Inpi also requested to all the leaders of Lhangpi Kuki Inpi (District)/Lhang Kuki Inpi (Block/Social Organisations/Churches to initiate their invaluable roles/efforts for the successful conduct of the observance said Khaimang Chongloi, Secretaiy, (Adm) Kuki Inpi Manipur.
