IMPHAL, Sept 26 NNN: “ The Education Department has already set up an Education Wing to develop and facilitate the state’s education system under the strict supervision of a Chief Engineer. An education tourism centre will also be set up at the border town Moreh where Burmese students will also take part in the project “, said M. Okendro, Education Minister of the state.
He was speaking as the chief guest during the T.G Higher Secondary School Fresher cum Literary cum Cultural Meet which was held at the institute’s premise.
The function was also attended by A.K. Mirabai, Social Welfare Minister; MLA O. Landoni and Pramo Devi, Principal of T.G. Higher Secondary School as the president and guests of honour respectively.
M. Okendro stated that the state government is planning to include more Higher Secondary School in all the 60 constituency of the state and stressed that the process of expanding Right to Free Education upto Secondary level is also on the offing.
“ The Education Department is planning to bring more system to enhance the quality education which the state needs. We are also considering for setting up of Women Colleges in all the districts of the state “, added M. Okendro.
O. Landoni, the Congress MLA who is also the lady wife of the chief minister while hailing the T.G. Higher Secondary School noted that it is among the best and reputed institutes of the state. She added that women have to be well educated in order to bring development and peace in the state.
