IMPHAL, Oct 18 NNN: A house along with a property worth Rs 6 lakh has been completely destroyed when a fire broke out today at Leishokching village in Chandel district at around 6.10 morning.
It was a wooden house which got charred to ashes and belonged to one K. Beruchung Tarao of Leishokching village.
Though Kakching fire brigade team came it could not save the house from turning to ashes. However, the fire fighters could manage to prevent the fire from engulfing the neighbouring houses. A team of Pallel Police Station led by O.C. A. Khelandro had rushed to the spot to take stock of the situation.
According to family members, the fire might have broke out from a switch connecting to a television set which was kept on on-mode before the fire broke out. The properties which was destroyed by the fire includes four mole of gold, a cash amount of Rs 50,000, important documents and 50 herbal bottle medicines.
After the fateful fire incident, the family members are sheltering at Leishokching Primary High School.
