The Assam Rifles today strongly rebutted the charges made by the proscribed revolutionary people’s front (RPF) in some newspaper on 18 Oct 2012 wherein they had alleged that a surrendered cadre was being used for anti-social activities. A self styled Lance Corporal of PLA Named Joy Chandra alias Roneshan son of Manbam Gopal was apprehended by he troops of 27 AR on 16 Oct 2012 from Hiyanglam near Kakching in Thoubal district the individual was involved actively in the recent terror activities in conjunction with othersfrom PLA. Intelligence reports had indicated that he was operating in the area with an aim to plant IEDs on the roads and cause damage . The individual was handed over to the police at Kakching Police station immediately after his arrest wherein he continued to hide the fact of his earlier surrender in 2010 to cover his tracks and the fact that he had gone back to his old ways and joined the outfit again and wanted to continue the facility being provided to the surrenders by the Govt.
