IMPHAL, Oct 20 NNN : The Joint Student Coordinating Committee (JSCC) has condemned the state Government for appointing an IPS officer to the post of chairman of Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BOSEM) on Saturday.
JSCC has demanded to replace the newly appointed BOSEM Chairman P Dhanakumar, an IPS officer by a person having work experience in the field of education saying the work of a police officer and that of education has a gulf of difference.
The appointment of Dhanakumar as the BOSEM Chairman has clearly indicated there are no good teachers and principals in the Government schools and colleges run by the state Government, JSCC convenor, Longjam Umakanta accused addressing a press conference at the office of Kangleipak Students’ Organisation (KSA), Sega Road here.
The JSCC comprises six student organizations— All Manipur Students’ Union (AMSU), Manipur Students’ Federation (MSF), Democratic Alliance of Manipur (DESAM), KSA, Students’ Welfare Association of Kangleipak (SWAK) and Students’ Union of Kangleipak (SUK).
In the meantime, Umakanta warned of stern agitation in the event of the failure of BOSEM to make available all the text books including that of Sarva Sikhya Abhiyan (SSA) to the students by December.
