The Manipur People’s Party has appealed to the Kuki Communities to withdraw the blockade on high ways as it affects all the people in the state. It appealed to all to live in peace and harmony.
President of the party S. Umananda said that Manipur has a history of 2000 years. Thirty six different communities are living in the state .
Manipur is not for some particular communities, we all belong to Manipur. Manipur can not be divided for Nagas, Kukis or Meiteis. We have our own culture and identity. Our territorial boundary shall not be changed at any circumstances. The implementation of inner line permit system in Manipur is a must. It can preserve the indigenous people of Manipur. The population of migrants exceeds the population of hill people. The migrants increase day by day. One day the indigenous people will be minority.
A team of all political parties including MPP is organizing sit in protest on 25 Nov. at Jantar Mantar New Delhi demanding the inner line permit system in Manipur.
