IMPHAL, December 14: the JAC against the missing of Soibam Surjakanta and JAC against the missing of Thokchom Birjit and Wide Angle Social Development Organisation has jointly organised a sit-in-protest cum a public meeting at Yurembam Awang KG Lampak, Imphal today.

According to a press release, both the JAC has demanded that if any organisation has any involvement regarding this issue then they should kindly release both the children without any condition and harm. Under the UNCRC resolution it is mandatory that no organisation or outfit can recruit a child under the age of 18 years, it said.

It further said that the JAC will appeal to all authority concern of the state government to initiate an enquiry on the incident at the earliest.

The JAC has staged a sit in protest from 13 to 15 December and it further said that they will put up their course of action until and unless the release of both the children, it added.

IMPHAL, Dec 14: Irom Chanu Sharmila, who is on a hunger strike demanding repeal of Armed Forces Special Powers Act from the state, will be produced before the Judicial Magistrate First Class Imphal East at Lamphel Court tomorrow at 11 am.   

She is currently lodged at the security ward of the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences, Porompat. She is charged with attempt to suicide under the FIR number 95(B) 2012, Porompat Police Station V/S 309 under Indian panel code.

IMPHAL, Dec 14: A team of West Police Commandos arrested one active member of KCP organisation from Kanglapat opposite high court at around 2:20 pm on December 12. The cadre has been identified Takheilambam Shohadeba alias Bikesh Singh, 42, son of late Lupochand Singh of Lamphel bazaar.

According to a police release, he disclosed that he joined KCP organisation in the month of October, 2012. He was assigned to serve demand letters to general public, government employees and businessman for the party fund. One mobile handset was seized from his possession, it said.

IMPHAL, Dec 14: A special free revision course for class X and XII (Sc) for students who are going to appear the exams of BOSEM and CHSE will be conducted by Kangleipak Students’ Association (KSA), informed a press note issued by KSA.

The free revision course will commenced from December 20, 2012 for class X students of Imphal east at Sawombung High School. Forms will be available at Lourembam Enterprises-Sawombung Gate, Rainbow Studio-Sawombung, and Nice Computer Centre-Napet Palli Bazar.

For class X and XII students of Imphal west, the said revision course will commenced from December 20, 2012 at N Tomchou Hr Sec School. Forms will be available at Romila Book Store-Mayang Imphal, MS Computer-Thongkhong Laxmi Bazar, and Ibudhou Pharmacy-Laxmi Bazar, the note added.
