IMPHAL, Feb 25 MNS NNN: Hours after Manipur police caught Colonel Ajay Chowdhury along with five others, including an assistant manager of Indigo Airlines for possessing psychotropic drugs worth around 15 crore in Chandel district yesterday, Narcotic & Affairs of Border seized another huge consignment of drugs containing suspected Petas-TR tablets at Tulihal Airport in Imphal on the same day.
During a press briefing today, Inspector RK Bikramjit Singh, Officer-in-charge, NAB said under the supervision of Md Ishak Shah, Superintendent of Police, NAB, a team led by him detained a non-Manipuri at Tulihal Airport around 3:35 pm yesterday seized three cartons containing 1, 03, 500 of Petas-TR tablets suspected to be contained of pseudoephidrine from his possession.
The suspected drug peddler has been identified as one Rajkumar Rai aged 32, son of Ramananda Rai, of Bihar now residing at Thangal bazaar near Anand Continental Hotel, Bikramjit said.
He said the drug smuggler is originally hailed from Tulsipur in Bihar.
The illegal drugs were sent through one courier service namely Skylark Express, Thangal bazaar, he said.
The estimated cost of the seized drugs might worth around 8 lakh in the grey market, the OC said, adding a regular FIR case has been registered against the arrested for further investigation.
