Militants infiltrating state forces : NPF

IMPHAL, Feb 1 NNN: The Naga People’s Front (NPF) Manipur State has demanded the immediate intervention of the Governor of Manipur in addressing the prevailing law and order situation of Manipur and the financial crisis in the state.
The NPF, Manipur State said the state government has failed completely in addressing the law and order problem in Manipur while alerting that everything is on the verge of crumbling down.
‘Besides, financial irregularities have been the common phenomena from top to bottom in the state under Congress led Secular Progressive Front (SPF) government. Underground elements have penetrated into the state security forces through recruitment of their cadres into the Manipur Police, IRB and commandos. Those personnel who were recruited through underground recommendations have been acting as conduit of the outlaw elements. Their involvements have been exposed in various major crimes committed in the state .
The NPF then said State Home minister Gaikhangam clearly stated that some anti-social elements had infiltrated into the Manipur police but how could they infiltrated without the consent and involvement of those authority concerned.
“Who was the then Home Minister of Manipur during that recruitment? Was any probe ordered to find out who the real culprit was in such criminal act?,” the NPF continued to question.
“There was also a powerful bomb blast inside the tight security zone of the 1st MR Bn. On the eve of 64th Indian Republic Day within the venue of the celebration. The State Home Minister again pointed his finger of suspicion that such crime could not be occurred inside security zone without the involvement of state security personnel. Many crimes were also committed in the recent past by the Manipur security forces. Payment of huge amount during recruitment is one of the major responsible factors of all those crimes committed by IRB, Police, Commando, MR etc. because they could not repay loan out of their meager salary,” the NPF, Manipur State stated.
Due to the above reason, now the state security forces who are custodian of internal security have been working as agents of the unlawful elements. Who should the public put their faith for protection and security of their own lives, properties and security? NPF Manipur Sate demands immediate probe into those irregularities during recruitments by a reputed investigating agency like NIA or CBI, the NPF added.
The NPF then said it was another surprising fact to know that Govt. of Manipur is getting not less than Rs 450 crore every month from the centre as SCA, SPA etc. for payment of salary, dues of various departments and contract bills. “However, many contractors have not been getting their contract bills for 2/3 years or more. Chief Minister O. Ibobi Singh who is also holding finance portfolio has been releasing funds/bills to handful of his coteries while contractors from hills district like Chandel, Senapati, Ukhrul and Tamenglong were always at the receiving end and they were black out with list of payment of contract bills. The Govt. of Manipur and Deptt. Of finance has become the fiefdom of Chief Minister O. Ibobi Singh. A leader of such doubtful integrity and biased attitude should introspect himself before he speak out for unity and integrity of the state,” the NPF advised.
The NPF M also drew the attention of Governor and demanded constitution of a House Committee comprising of both ruling and opposition members to probe recruitments and financial irregularities .

DIMAPUR, Feb 1 NNN: When speculations on the early settlement of the vexed Naga political issue are rife, the NSCN-IM has expressed its strong objection to the conduct of the Assam Rifles today.
The NSCN-IM said that when certain actions came in contrary to the rules and regulations that monitor the 2nd Indo-Naga ceasefire reaction and condemnation will naturally follow and in the strongest term as deem necessary.
The NSCN-IM said that the outfit is shocked beyond measure when its Cease Fire Monitoring Cell received a letter signed by one Major, Adjutant for Commandant, 29 Assam Rifles and attested by one Captain Adjutant, 29 Assam Rifles. The letter stated thus,”This unit is tasked to to collect the land details of Hebron designated camp (NSCN-IM headquarters, off Dimapur) during the initial settlement of the 1999.”
According to the NSCN-IM, the letter further authorized one Shankar Singh of 29 Assam Rifles to collect the date/sketches of the Hebron camp. “This is totally against the norms of the Cease fire monitoring. Anything that has to do with cease fire rules has to be initiated with the sanction of the Chairman of Cease Fire Monitoring Group (CFMG) and if necessary be discussed in the Cease fire ground rule meeting. The 29 Assam Rifles cannot bypass any official norms under any given situation,” the Naga outfit said.
The NSCN also received a letter from National Investigation Agency(NIA) from its Gauhati Office. To deal with NIA do not come under the purview of the Ceasefire Monitoring Cell and therefore,it cannot entertain such directive.
The NSCN-IM also alleged that another unwarranted action against NSCN has also come from the 31 Assam Rifles under Col Vikram Singh.
According to the NSCN-IM, Col Vikram Singh has ordered destruction/dismantling of the Hevito Battalion, Naga Army (armed wing of the NSCN), New Chungtia on the pretext that the camp is totally illegal as it is against the Ceasefire Ground Rules and it also poses a serious security threat to the local population, Mariani-Mokokchung highway and conduct of Assembly Election.
“This Battalion has been in existent for more than 15 years.Ceasefire was enforced for more than 15 years and why the realisation now that it posses a threat to the local population Such action of 31 AR is totally unwarranted and therefore, we condemn in the strongest term,” the NSCN-IMsaid.

When there is light or energy people work. People sleep when there is no light. Such is the law of nature. Nature has bestowed us adequate means to harness energy which we are not able to do. We entirely depend on government to provide us energy. The flop show will continue. We have to look for other sources. Big projects are not feasible as we can not afford to waste other resources and land. Even if we hate our neighbour China fo many reasons we are thankful to the great nation for illegally supplying cheap power sources like battery, recharegeable lamps etc. Sale of candle have climbed down in Manipur after the heavy import of the illegal alternate source. The government of India should seriously start working on this line. The solar panels issued through some agencies in the state adorn residences of government officials while it is doubted if the beneficiaries include the common masses forget about the poor. Energy has become a global concern and hence the government should ensure that people have easy access to the schemes to provide alternative source of energy. Inverter and other products in our country are costly compared to products coming from neighbouring countries. Researchers at Rochester Institute of Technology, international semiconductor consortium SEMATECH and Texas State University have suggested that use of new methods and materials for building integrated circuits can reduce power—extending battery life to 10 times longer for mobile applications compared to conventional
transistors. The key to the breakthrough is a tunneling field effect transistor. Transistors are switches that control the movement of electrons through material to conduct the electrical currents needed to run circuits.Unlike standard transistors, which are like driving a car over a hill, the tunneling field effect transistor is more like tunneling through a hill, said Sean Rommel, associate professor of electrical and microelectronic engineering.“The tunneling field effect transistors have not yet demonstrated a sufficiently large drive current to make it a practical replacement for current transistor technology,” Rommel
sserted, “but this work conclusively established the largest tunneling current ever experimentally demonstrated, answering a key question about the viability of tunneling field effect transistor technology.”Such methods can be used in our energy starved state . Whatever the government takes up we have to ensure that people get the benefit.

Aam Aadmi Party for real or just the name?

The news of establishing a new political party in our state whose vision states “a dream of an equal and just society where every man, woman and child has the right and privilege to lead a fulfilling and nurturing life, free from all kinds of oppression” reminds me of the lengthiest constitution in the world. Its directive principles and the frame work for all the citizens’ rights starting form the first citizen to the aam aadmi as a whole. And a system that follows a written constitution that govern, protect its citizens for their welfare and development. As our nation celebrates 64th Republic Day those words written in the golden book is a distant reality for many Indian and has been “work in progress” never fully executed till date.

On the contrary our society is governed by the bureaucrats’ politicians and men’s with weopon. News of sexual harassment, graft, and scam along with anti social elements flexing their muscle is a daily phenomenon across the length & breadth of the country. It would be my wildest dream to see a new India free from corruptions and crimes against women. And, on this very topic, how many political party & politicians has promised to fight corruption and actually bring all the corrupt to justice. I wonder how the general public would react to such newly formed political parties and embrace with both hands. Beside the politician & political parties in our states is for the riches. The recently concluded state election and panchayat election is the proof that- aam aadmi wants the yellow and red notes rather than the politician or the political party itself. This trend has been in the blood of the people of our state for ages, as they knew that only the corrupt and power hungry people took center stage for changes and developmental promises. Looking at our timeline and the history of the state in the last five decade since independence it is a matter of shame that we do not have a single influential political leader to guide and lead us to development and prosperity.

If those pre election promises were fulfilled by the candidates and ruling party as such, people would have admired them as their leader who is reliable for development and good governance. The launching of Aam Aadmi Party in Manipur and the whole of North East is a wel-come change of ideas and option for the citizens of this region who really believe in the democracy and development in the society. The question to be asked is how many citizens are there in Manipur who is ready to cast their vote, free from influence and greed of money. The up coming Nagaland election could well be an eye opener for the general public to try the new, rather than favoring the old and inefficient political parties in the region.

AAP further states that every civilization reaches a plimsoll line of tolerance. And this is their line. India’s common man has had enough of oppression, inequality, injustice and unkept promises. For the last 2 years the anti corruption movement has galvanized the country from end to end into one common voice – a voice that is demanding a complete rehaul in the way political parties and their leaders function” as quoted in their web site aamaadmiparty.org. Its is only too be seen in days to come to find out if Aam Aadmi Party really care for the Aam Janata or just another political party gone with the winds.
