IMPHAL, Aug 18 NNN: In connection with the August 9 incident in Tripura where 11 students were beaten up, representatives from Manipur had gone to Tripura and had met the vice chancellor of Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India University, Tripura and asked for the protection of students from Manipur.
All Manipur Students Union (AMSU) leader Sinam Prakash who is also the general secretary of North East Students Organisation (NESO), Manipur police IG of Intelligence KT Vaiphei and two guardian representatives had met Ajay Pathak, vice chancellor of the university and had demanded that a separate hostel for the students from Manipur is established and provide security to the students for a month which should be extended if need be.
It can be noted here that students from Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh had assaulted 11 students from Manipur.
However, a compromise was made between them after the representatives from Manipur had met the VC.
