IMPHAL, October 31: Manipur Governor Dr Ashwani Kumar has greeted the people of the state especially those from the Kuki-Mizo-Chin community on the happy and joyous occasion of Kut 2013.

In his message, the Governor said Kut, a post harvest festival of the people is a thanks giving to the Almighty for a generous harvest and the celebrations have now transcended the community to all the people of North East India.

Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh also conveyed his heartiest greetings to the people of Manipur particularly the Kuki-Mizo-Chin brethren on the joyous occasion of Kut festival.

In a statement, the CM said the spirit of Kut festival is all about sharing, understanding, harmonious co-existence, co-operation and merriment and expressed hope that the festival will spread the message of love, peace and brotherhood amongst all communities living in Manipur.

‘’On this auspicious occasion, let us join our hands together and work united to bring everlasting peace and prosperity in Manipur by resolving our differences and taking the path of non-violence,’’ the CM wished in his message.
