IMPHAL, November 30: Locals and womenfolk of Luwangsangbam came out on into the streets at Khabam Lamkhai today morning and stopped night super passenger buses plying on the Imphal-Dimapur-Guwahati route along the national Highway Number 2 demanding the safe release of bus driver Thoudam Ramea, son of Ningthem of Luwangshanbam Matai Awang Mamang Leikai who was abducted by three unknown persons coming in a Maruti van at Viswema, Nagaland in the early morning of November 27 last.
The incident blocking the road commenced from today early morning and stopped all the night super passenger buses from plying along the national highways demanding the safe release of the abducted driver. Ramea was proceeding from Guwahati to Imphal along with passengers at the time he was kidnapped.
It may be mentioned that the All Manipur Interstate Bus Association and the family members of the abducted driver Ramea had called a press conference at Manipur press club on November 28 demanding the safe release of the driver.
