IMPHAL, January 19: The family of a patient who died at the Raj Poly Clinic today around 7.30 am has alleged negligence on the part of the doctors.
The patient has been identified as one Oinam Livingson, 19, son of Oinam Nando of Oinam Sawombung Mayai Leikai.
Following the death, a joint meeting was held at Oinam Sawombung presided by the concerned Gram Panchayat Pradhan, Prabha Devi and formed a JAC in connection with the death.
During the meeting Oinam Dina was appointed as the convenor of JAC and Elangbam Leibakmacha as the president.
The JAC members informed that the patient Oinam Livingson was admitted at RIMS on January 10 following varicose vein under the supervision of Ksh Kala professor of Cardio Vascular and Thoracic RIMS.
As per the advised of Prof Kala, the said patient was admitted to the Public Hospital for treatment on January 12 and operated on his right calf.
Following complication post operation the patient was referred to Raj Poly Clinic at around 6 pm on January 14. The patient was accompanied by Prof Kala himself and admitted at the ICU ward, the JAC members said and added even after the treatment Lovingson died this morning around 7.30 am.
Alleging that the death was caused due to malpractice of the said Professor and the two private hospitals, the JAC has demanded legal action against the said hospitals and Prof Kala.
Failure of which they stated the body of the deceased will not be claimed until the demands are met.
