JIRIBAM, April 13: A new executive body of the All Jiribam Working Journalists’ Union (AJWJU), for the term of 2014-2016 has been constituted on Sunday.
The election of the new executive members was conducted during a meeting presided by outgoing president of the Union, M Joymangol Singh at the union’s office at Eastern Post, Jiribam.
The new executive body comprises nine members and also three advisors have been elected unopposed.
The newly selected executive members are Ng Bishwajit Singh as president, A Lukhoi as vice president, M Romeo Singh as general secretary, Y Sanjit Singh as assistant secretary, Md Mahin Laskar as finance secretary, Abdus Salam as publicity and information, N Priyobarta Singh as auditor, Ksh Brajabehari Singh and Gonlalmuan Guite as executive members and F Ahmed, Th Sarat Singh and M Joymangol Singh as advisor.
General Secretary, M Romeo Singh said that the AJWJU is operating on the border of Manipur and Assam. However, it is working without its building. In this connection, he continued that the priority will be given to construct of its building and also for the welfare of the journalists.
