IMPHAL, March 4: The first phase rationalisation of Electronic Voting Machines for the ten assembly constituencies of the Imphal east district was conducted on Thursday, said it in a press release issued by District Information Officer of the district.
The process of the rationalisation was conducted in a function chaired by the Deputy Commissioner of the district said M Joy Singh and it was attended by the General Observer Chandrabhanu and the representatives of the political parties operating in the state. However, the rationalisation was excluded the assembly constituencies which are included in the No II – Outer Parliamentary constituency, it said.
The second phase rationalisation of EVMs of the district will be held on April 10, 2014, it said and added that the DC of the district has appealed to all the political parties of the state to depute one representative in the said rationalisation process.
