Co-accused’s bail pleas reserved till June 21
IMPHAL, June 17: The Chief Judicial Magistrate Imphal West has reserved the bail pleas of two co-accused of the infamous murder case of Baby Lungnila Elizabeth, Ningthoujam Heisnam Premi Devi and Laishram Biren, today.
Sources said that the decision of the court on the bail plea will be announced on June 21.
The two co-accused in their bail pleas had mentioned that they were wrongly implicated in the murder case.
Ningthoujam Heisnam Premi Devi reportedly submitted her plea on April 30 while Laishram Biren submitted his on May 15.
Subsequent to the pleas, the CBI also submitted its bail objection report before the court claiming that the prosecution witnesses have testified against the two co-accused of their involvement in the case.
Heisnam Premi Devi was arrested on April 9 last from the RIMS campus by a special team of CBI. A week after, another co-accused Laishram Suresh alias Biren alias Nabakeshor 45 son of (L) Thambalngou of Pukhao Naharup at present staying at Nongmaikhong was arrested on April 16 evening from the Sangaiprou area.
Another co-accused in the Baby Lungnila Elizabeth murder case against whom, the CBI has announced a wanted tag of Rs One lakh identified as Ngamkhotinlal Lhouvum alias Ngamphu alias King is still at large.
Lungnila Elizabeth, daughter of the State RD and PR minister Francis Ngajokpa was kidnapped on November 4, 2003 from the gate of Little Flower School. Later, her body stuffed inside a gunny sack was recovered on the November 12 at Tera Sadokpam Leikai.
