IMPHAL, June 25: ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) has to be sincere and should have the knowledge for all the kinds of infirmities for giving medical treatment. This was stated by Mission Director of NRHM,Manipur Dr O Ibotombi Singh in the opening ceremony for the five-days training for the 3rd Round of Module 6th and 7th district level ASHA trainers training programme at Female Health Workers Training School, RD Wing Lamphelpat on Wednesday.
He further said that the trainees should try to get knowledge from the faculties and revise by studying books while for any problem or doubt they can discuss with faculties during the training period at any time.
ASHA state nodal officer K Usha said that the training is to impart knowledge to ASHAs their rights, to build up leadership quality and how to conduct a health awareness programme.
She said that the main course will be health benefit schemes, re-orientation, child health, gender victims, sexual victims, personal hygiene.
While ASHA is the backbone and they give link between communities and governments and the training is to develop step by step the above skills, she added.
She further said that to become perfect ASHA trainers all the trainers should attend fourth round training and after finishing the training they should think the real duty to serve.
In the opening function, NRHM Manipur Mission Director Dr. O Ibomcha Singh attended as the chief guest, State Nodal Officer ASHA, Dr. K Usha as the guest of honour and RRC Manipur, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare W Imo Singh as the president. 62 trainees from nine districts participated in the training programme and Dr Memcha Devi, Nalini Devi, Gunachandra and W Imo will be the faculties during the training.
