IMPHAL, Aug 12: A non-local was severely trashed by a mob for allegedly harassing and physically abusing a girl this evening at Uripok.
Reports said that the incident took place around 4.30 at Uripok Sinam Leikai.
The man allegedly harassed and abused a woman (co-passenger) inside a passenger auto-rickshaw.
He was severely roughed up the people of the area and was rushed to RIMS by a team of Imphal police station.
When police arrived at the scene, the man was said to be unconscious, informed a source.
As per a voter ID recovered from his body, the man is identified as Sujit Paul son of Sibu Paul of Jalpaiguri.
