IMPHAL, August 20: Altogether 83 loaded trucks stranded in Assam have reached Imphal with escort since this morning.
Sources said that of the total include 33 petrol tankers, 32 tankers Sk/oil, three diesel tankers and 15 tankers of the Bharat Petroleum Company Lmtd (BPL).
Further the sources informed that the IOC has rationed petroleum products for several filling station which included PCTC 12 KL, Lamsang Oil Pump 12 KL, Indo-Myanamr Oil Pump 12 KL, Yumnam Oil
Service 4 KL, Imphal Oil Shangapham 8 KL, Mayai Lambi service station 4 KL, Eatern Agro Station 4 KL, KPOC 4 KL, Beikul service station 8 KL, Kushum service station 4 KL, Gasoline Station 4 KL, Tuibuong service station 4 KL, Nambol service station 4 KL, Jas gas Uripok 4 KL, K Nilo 8 KL, United Brothers 5 KL, BB& Co 5 KL, BE 5 KL, Porompat service station 5 KL, Tusk & Bonn 4 KL, PG petroleum 4 KL, Highway service station 4 KL and Diamon service station 4 KL.
Speaking to IFP, Bhupenchandra Gosh, divulged that over 100 empty tankers are still stationed in different parts of Assam adding that soon after the trucks are loaded it will be escorted till Imphal.
Further appealing the public to avoid panic buying, Bhupenchandra Gosh said that the IOC has got stock of petroleum products for about 15 days.
It may be mentioned that long queues were witnessed on Tuesday in front of most oil pumps triggered by fear of fuel scarcity in the State over reports of oil tankers meant for the State being stranded at the Golaghat area of the Assam-Nagaland border.
