IMPHAL, October 9: Ningthoukhongjam Rajesh alias Thanil a resident of Uripok Ningthoukhongjam Leikai, has served a legal notice against Prof. Hajarimayum Subadani Devi, Head of Department of Hindi, Manipur University demanding apology within seven days.
It may be noted that reacting to a petition to the President of India submitted by the Students`™ League of Manipur requesting appropriate disciplinary action against her, Prof H Subadani had accused Thanil, husband of Bijayalaxmi a lecturer in the Hindi Department, was behind the imbroglio surrounding her.
MSL had accused prof H Subadini Devi of ignoring and encouraging rampant use of materials from these submitted by earlier research scholars who had worked under her and had already been granted the Doctorate Degree by the University.
A copy of the said petition was also submitted to the Governor of Manipur, Vice Chancellor MU besides being published in local dailies.
Meanwhile, serving the legal notice on behalf of Thanil, his advocate has warned the HoD of legal actions in case she fails to respond within the stipulated time.
Subadani had further implicated that the fall out was a result of a dispute between her and Thanil`™s wife Bijayalaxmi, an assistant professor of the department in connection with OBC certificate.
However, Thanil refuted the claim as baseless adding that Subadani`™s constant attempt to prove herself innocent in the newspapers has deliberately defamed, derogated and insulted him before the public.
