LAMKA, April 24: Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh today accompanied by deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam went on an inspection spree in Churachandpur district inspecting and inaugurating six Tribal Development blocks/ BDO/ SDO offices.

The Chief Minister was also accompanied by Health minister Phungzathang Tonsing, Thanlon MLA VUngzagin Valte, henglep MLA Manga Vaiphei, Tipaimukh MLA Dr Chaltonlien Amo, Saikot MLA TN HaokipSinghat MLA GS Haupu, Autonomous District Council, Churachandpur chairman Langkhanpau Guite and vice chairman K Haokip.
The buildings inaugurated are BDO/SDO office Building at Samulamlan, SDO/BDO office Building and 33/11 KV power sub-station at Sangaikot, SDO/BDO office Building at Saikot,TD Block office building at Lanva, TD Block office building at New lamka and SDO/BDO Office at Tuibuang.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister expressed satisfaction over the completion of infrastructure building in the district and said this will bring more power to the people and better administration where the blocks and BDO/ SDO offices are located.
The offices were constructed as per the wishes of the local people, he said and further assured to upgrade the TD Blocks to BDO/SDO level especially in New lamka and Lanva.
Meanwhile, replying to a query from this IFP correspondent on the condition of the pathetic road condition of Sugnu via Sangaikot, which has never been in a good condition in recent memory, the Chief Minister said he was aware of the road condition.
Except for a small portion of the road which is black-topped the rest is in a bad shape, he said.
The Chief Minister also assured that fund for the development of the road will be requested from the concerned authority and that his govt will try it`™s best to allocate the required fund at the earliest.
The Chief Minister`™s inaugural spree culminated at the Tuibuang BDO/ SDO office after which he attended the Haokip Phungpi Conference (HPC) 2015 where the CM who grace as the chief guest told Haokip clan and the people present that there were many more good things to come.
`I am please and happy that Churachandpur district has impose its faith in the Congress party as was shown by its election of six MLA from as many constituency and whose unity is shown by the presence of all representatives today.`
`I feel small when we talk in terms of our tribes like kuki, Metei, Paite, Hmar, Mizo, vaiphei etc. as we are but one and that`™s what God made us as we are at the same time physically identical.`
`We had many problem to appoint official for the district in the past as one will object to the appointment of one official because he or she belong to other tribe or clans but now I am happy to see that all are content when you have the top officials, the DC and SP, from the Haokip clans which show your unity and your maturity` the Chief Minister told the applauding audience.
The CM also dwelt at length about being one and said `We are one and equal.`
The Chief Minister also assured that the memorandums submitted will be considered.
During the HTC occasion, Saikot MLA TN Haokip made the welcome address in which he said the Chief Minister has a soft corner for the district.
The HAC chairman also said that under the leadership of CM Ibobi the district and the State has developed by leaps and bound.
He further appreciated the Chief Minister for travelling to the hill districts whether by road or by helicopter whenever it is not accessible by land or if there were any hindrances.
Meanwhile, deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam said the inaugural of six developmental projects in the district today would be one of the best example of infrastructural development in the State.
