IMPHAL, May 8: The BJP`™s State Election Management Committee meeting regarding the June 1 ADC election will be held tomorrow at the party`™s State unit office. The party will also open its Election Control Room on May 11 which will be functioning 24×7.

This was stated by the party`™s new State secretary Salam Joy during an interaction with media persons today.

With the party gaining in strength on a daily basis the responsibilities of its leaders are also getting bigger, he said asserting that he will work to his best capabilities to ensure that the party gets clear majority in the upcoming ADC election.

Soon after the end of the ongoing Parliament session, BJP national leaders like Union minster of Tribal Welfare Jual Oram, the party`™s national spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman, Union minister DoNER Dr Jitendra, Union minister of Culture and Tourism Dr Mahesh Sharma, Ministry of power and Energy Piyush Goal, Minister of State Home and Affairs Kiran Rejiju and others will be visiting the State he said.

According to the party`™s State general secretary administration M Asnikumar, the party`™s final strategy for the ADC election will be finalised during tomorrow`™s meeting.

The meeting which will commence from 10 am will be attended by the president State president, three former presidents, three general secretaries and other senior and tribal leaders of the party, he said.

The meeting will minutely discuss the conduct of three public meetings each in all ADC constituencies, and the opening of the control room, he continued.

BJP is confident of winning a clear majority if the election is conducted in a free and fair manner, he said.

Development has failed to reach the hills under the present ruling party, he said.

Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam has claimed that the law and order situation in the hills is quite vulnerable, which is quite contrary to his other claim that the law and order situation in the State has improved considerably in the last 13 years, he said.

This can only mean that the Congress government has failed to look after the hills, he said.

Clarifying on the issue of discontentment witnessed in the party during the allotment of party tickets for the ADC election, former president of the party, Meinam Bhorot said the chapter is now closed and the party has only genuine candidates.

People need to let go of such small misunderstandings and it is time for the BJP family to stand united, he said.
