BISHNUPUR, September 9: A one-day awareness programme on ICPS and Child Protection, Child Rights and Child Trafficking was organized by District Child Protection Unit Bishnupur, Social Welfare Department at Leimapokpam Community Hall, Nambol today.
The programme was attended by Member of Leimapokpam Zilla Parishad Leimapokpam ongbi Tunanbi Devi as chief guest; Pradhan of Leimapokpam Gram Panchayat Koijam ongbi Ranjana Devi as president; Pradhan of Ishok Gram Panchayat Asem ongbi Sangita Devi; Pradhan of Sanjenbam Pukhrambam Gram Panchayat Naorem Tomba Meitei and Officer-in-charge Nambol Police Station Oinam Iboton Singh as guests of honour.
Delivering key note address, District Child Protection Officer N Nandashyam stated that the awareness programme was organized with the key objective of spreading the knowledge of child protection, fundamental rights of child and increasing the involvement of movement regarding the child rights in general population.
Besides Chairperson of Child Welfare Committee L Pishak Singh and Programme Officer of SCPS Mala Lisham who graced the occasion as resource persons, women folk, club members and NGO representatives from different parts of the district were also present at the programme.
