IMPHAL, September 6: The Revolutionary People`™s Front has paid condolence to three cadres of its PLA identified as 2nd lieutenant Amar alias Kangjam Romi, sgt Shyam alias Tongbram Samananda and cpl Andy alias Chongtham Nabanta.

A statement of the outfit said the three had gone in civilian dresses without any weapons for a medical check-up but were waylaid by a group of security forces who fired upon them near B Bongjang Village in Chandel district around 11am on September 5.

Two of them died at the spot, while the other who was already injured managed to escape from the spot but succumbed later, it said.

It said Kangjam Romi son of K Babu and K (o) Kaboklei of Phoubakchao Ikhai Bazar completed the PLA Basic Training on January 31, 2004 and was allotted Army no 2560 on the same day by the War office. He was presently working at the GHQ, it said.

It said he started working in the GQ in 2004 and after July 14, 2004 he served as a guard of the 253 Reserve battalion B Coy platoon 1 section 1 group 2 Commander and War Office.

It said Tongbram Samananda son of T Biren and T (o) Ibeyaima of Thanga Khunsem completed the Basic training of the PLA on January 1, 2008 and was allotted Army no2992.

After completing his training, he worked with the 253 R Bn Platoon 1 section 2 A Coy section 2ic from March 2009 and was later transferred on August 21 2009 to Auxillary Command. Samananda was presently working at the GHQ, it said.

Chongtham Nabanta son of Ch Bhomendro and Ch (o) Udoirani of Keishamthong Elangbam Leikai completed his basic training under the PLA on October 27, 2008 and was allotted Army no 3098, it said.

It continued, Nabanta worked at the GHQ after completing his training and was transferred as the training instructor on November 30, 2009. He was presently working under the Training Command, it said.

The statement also said that all units, departments and stations of the organisation convened a condolence meeting.
