LAMKA, September 24: In a new development in the form of agitation and protest in Churachandpur today, womenfolk who had been on daily dharnas were replaced by their husbands but without the involvement of any youth so as to avoid any unwanted incident.

The men took charge of the dharna stations particularly in the town areas from around 1pm.

Meanwhile, the information and publicity department of the JAC Churachandpur today issued an appeal to the general public through a media hand-out to pray at their own church denominations as the three bills passed in the State Assembly on August 31 have been put up for the President`™s assent.

It urged the people to pray so that the president Pranab Mukherjee may not sign the three anti bills.

In another development, a team of ZoRO from Mizoram visited Churachandpur today to show their solidarity to the tribals of Manipur who are fighting for separate administration. The team visited and paid their respect to the nine killed during the recent violence in the district.
