IMPHAL, Nov 12: The Imphal East district police today celebrated the `Ningol Chakouba`™ at the office complex of the Superintendent of Police, Porompat with the objective to enhance relation between the public and police.
Women belonging to various organizations, public leaders and representatives of the Imphal East district took part in the `Ningol Chakouba`™ celebration.
Presentation of gifts to the women folks by police officials, blessing ceremony and a grand feast marked the celebration.
Speaking to media persons, on the sideline of the festival the Impha East SP, Angam Kamei Romanus said that the district police is organizing the `Ningol Chakouba`™ to express that the police are also human beings with a heart to love their sisters and mothers.
However, the SP further explained that relationship could sometimes turn sour during the process of maintaining peace and harmony in the State.
The Imphal East SP maintained that with the well wishes and blessings from the sisters and mothers of the District, today`™s `Ningol Chakouba`™ celebration was a grand success.
The women folks of the district have been playing important role in assisting the police department to maintain peace in the district, asserted the SP.
It may be mentioned that the Imphal East District police have been organizing Ningol Chakouba festival every years since the last few years with the objective to ensure that all married women in the district are not deprived of the joy of participating in Ningol-Chakouba.
The Ningol Chakouba festival was also attended by many top police officials of the Imphal East District including Additional SP (Ops) Singhajit, Addl SP (LO) Manjit, Officer In Charge of Imphal East women Police Station Ushakiran and other Officer-in-Charges of the various police stations of Imphal east district.
