IMPHAL, November 15: Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh has said that the Congress party will live up to the aspiration of the people and work for the welfare of Manipur.
The Chief Minister was addressing a political conference held at Moral Educational Intellectual Renascent and Athletic Association (MEIRA) ground today.
Okram Ibobi Singh, appealed to the people to support INC candidate in the ensuing by-election assuring that the party will make up for what have been failed to deliver by their rival candidate during their tenure in terms of development.
He said that the coming bye-election is crucial and that it is obvious if Congress party failed to materialised what have been assured then they will be in difficult situation in the 2017 general election.
Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam, once again reacting to allegation surrounding the disqualification of former MLA of Thongju, Th Bishwajit, said that all the charges levelled against the congress are baseless.
Despite various false allegations made by rival party the people still trust the congress party, he said adding that he appealed the people to support their candidate.
Minister of Education and CAF & PD, Moirangthem Okendro; MLA Heingang, N Biren also attended the conference.
