Lecturers threaten agitation

IMPHAL, Aug 3: The All Manipur Government Higher Secondary Lecturer’s Welfare Association (AMGHSLWA) has urged the authority concerned to revise the grade pay of the Higher Secondary lecturers at the earliest. A press release issued by the publicity secretary of the association stated that according to a ROP 2010 order issued by the State Finance Department (PIC), lecturers are classified as Group A post. It stated that the pay scale for lecturers mentioned in the order as PB 9300-34800 + Rs 4400 (GP) was changed to PB-2 Rs 9300-34800 + Rs 4800 (AGP) by an order issued by the School Education Department on June 3, 2011, and alleged that according to this structure the Academic Grade Pay (AGP) is divided into Rs 4000 as Grade Pay and Rs 800 as Allowance for the lecturers, a sytem which is not found anywhere in the country.
