With the transfer of two doctors from district hospital Tamenglong to Nungba CHC, the agitation of Joint Action Forum (JAF), Tamenglong temporarily suspended the office from midnight of September 12.

All government offices in Tamenglong were deserted today due to the office picketing imposed by JAF. Meanwhile, deputy commissioner of Tamenglong, Armstrong Pame was seen signing documents outside his office chamber while waiting for the agitators to come for talks. Later, talks were held at the conference hall of Tamenglong DC office complex chaired by the DC.

Tamenglong ADC members including Poukenlung, Pouhotlung Panmei, Charles Liangdiyang, TP Sangjeu, CMO Dr. Chambo Gonmei and his team and members of JAF attended the talks.

During the talks, Armstrong Pame assured the agitators that the two doctors who were transferred will be brought back to the district hostpital, Tamenglong and urged to withdraw the agitation.

The DC also expressed his condolence for the recent incident of the baby who was born still and died on the way to Imphal after being referred from the district hospital to Imphal. He continued that such incident could have been prevented if there had been adequate medical facilities in the district hospital.

After few hours of waiting for the transfer order as promised by the DC, four doctors were transferred back in Tamenglong district, two at the district hospital and another two at CHC Nungba.

The four doctors were, Dr. NG. Wilson Changlo from PG Pool Medical Directorate Lamphel to CHC Nungba, Dr. Khumanthem John from PG Pool Medical Directorate Lamphel to CHC Nungba, Dr. M Nelson and Dr Mutum Davison, who were utilised at CHC Nungba to district hospital, Tamenglong.
