IMPHAL, Sep 25: Tengnoupal district police have been keeping a sharp vigil at the border town of Moreh to thwart any attempt of illegal migration from the neighbouring country.
Under a new initiative of SP Dr Sarangthem Ibomcha, particulars of Indians visiting Myanmar and foreigners, particularly Myanmar Nationals visiting India (Manipur) have been entered on two separate registration books on daily basis. Notably, similar stringent security measures to thwart illegal immigration have been put in place at Jiribam too in the backdrop of the large scale violence seen in Rakhine province of Myanmar which has resulted in mass migration.
