United Naga Council (UNC) is all prepared for the tripartite talks on district creation issue on Friday. According to sources, an 11-member delegation of UNC will participate in the talks.
As part of their preparations for the event, UNC leaders had a “very serious” discussion in its office at Senapati today convened by UNC president Gaidon Kamei, according to UNC sources. It is, however, not known what transpired in the discussion.
As usual, Satyendra Garg, joint secretary of the ministry of home affairs (MHA), in-charge of Northeast, will chair the talks. From the State government’s side, three Cabinet ministers: agriculture and veterinary minister, V. Hangkhanlian, tribal affairs and hills, minister N. Kayisii and education and labour and employment minister, Th. Radheshyam will lead the delegation.
Additional chief secretary (Home) of Manipur J. Suresh Babu and commissioner (Works & IPR) K. Radhakumar Singh will also be part of the State government delegation, the sources added.
