TAMENGLONG | Oct 19
United Bank of India and Treasury office of Tamenglong were shut down by District Concerned Development Association (DCDA), Tamenglong, decrying against the non-functional ATM booth for almost a month, and limiting cash withdrawal at the bank upto only Rs. 5000.
The lone United Bank of India at Tamenglong has been facing shortages of cash for the last two months, which has rendered the recently launched ATM booth non-functional.
When this reporter contacted the manager of UBI, he said that the last remittance was made in the month of April. He added that he had applied for advance remittance for five times but RBI has cancelled it due to bad weather.
Meanwhile, he also appealed DCDA not to disoblige the bank in the interest of the people of Tamenglong.
