IMPHAL | Nov 3
Education minister Thokchom Radheshyam Singh on Friday said that while educational institutions are the holiest places where youth from all religions come to learn and nurture their future, it is unfortunate that these institutions are constantly under the threat of encroachment by people living in and around them.
The minister said educational institutions belong to all the people and the society but are being manipulated for some personal gain. He said such things need to be stopped, and asked people to regard the buildings of schools, colleges and universities as the holiest places like temples, mosques and churches.
Singh was speaking as chief guest at the first Sin-Lang Fest, a three-day event organised by the BBA department of DM College of Commerce, Imphal. Since birth, man has to manage every step of life, and the best management in life can lead one to success, the minister said.
Parliamentary secretary Leishangthem Susindro Meitei said the fest is a practical for students to make themselves aware and gain experience in event management. He said the students also need to participate in events organised by other colleges and universities to develop their skills in this field.
Principal of D. M. College of Commerce said that such a festival is being organised to enhance the competency and skills of the students.
