MAHUD minister, Thaonaojam Shyamkumar Singh today said that a loan disbursal office at Ngariyal Chingkhong will be inaugurated on November 20 for the people of Imphal East, especially of Andro region to ease the process of availing loans from Imphal city. This office will give awareness on various loans and schemes of the government particularly for women.
He was speaking as the chief guest at the one day awareness campaign on handlooms and handicrafts delivery and Mudra loans at Lai Manai Multipurpose Hall, Yairipok.
The minister said that there will be no development if there were no women and for the welfare of women who have helped themselves by engaging in handloom and handicrafts, there are different schemes given by government. He urged the women to avail these schemes and loans such as Mudra loan, for these will improve earnings and encourage them to work qualitatively.
He said this awareness programme will give local women an opportunity to explore their talents and idea regarding possible business opportunities. He also said that more loans under various schemes will be given after the identification of beneficiaries is made. He also appealed to the loanees to pay off loans on time so that a cordial relationship is maintained between the bank and the loanees.
Altogether, 1,250 cards were distributed to women weavers of the constituency today.
Shyamkumar also said that loans will be available to the locals of Andro constituency from the new office which is due to be inaugurated in the last week of this month. He also assured the locals that the Imphal-Yairipok road will be blacktopped soon while observing the problems faced by the commuters.
