TAMENGLONG, Dec 19 : The Phalong Village Authority and Phalong Students’ Union have condemned the arrest of a civilian namely Thainingam Gonmei alias Angam (27) s/o Huranthui Gonmei of Phalong (Bhalok) village, Tamenglong district on December 16 from Patsoi, Imphal.
A joint press release issued vice president of Phalong Students’ Union along with secretary and Chairman of Phalong VIllage Authority stated that Thainingam is a daily wage earner and has a wife and two children.
He is an innocent civilian to the best of their knowledge, statd the village authority and students’ union. They appealed the authority concerned to drop any kind of charges against him and release him immediately wihout any condition.
