JIRIBAM | Dec 23
Interview for the selections of new Anganwadi workers and helpers (Mini, Main) under Integrated Child Development Society (ICDS), Jiribam project, which was scheduled to be held on December 23, has been postponed without mentioning any rescheduled date.
Today morning, large numbers of agitating student organisations and women organisations members gathered in front of Jiribam Higher Secondary School, Jiribam with an intention to interrupt the interview. Taking the stock of situation, CDPO, A. Rajeshwari Devi immediately postponed the interview.
Meanwhile, representing the agitating organisations, publicity secretary of AMSU District Committee, Th. Thanil Singh, general secretary of MSF District Committee, Th. Bharat Singh and vice-president of KSA, Jiribam District Committee, Y. Chalamba Meitei issued a press release in which they expressed their gratitude to the director of Social Welfare Department and concerned DC of Jiribam district for giving consent to the demand of the organisations and for postponing the interview for the larger interest of Jiribam people.
It may be mentioned that AMSU, MSF and KSA of Jiribam district along with Meira paibi Lups frequently have shown their unwillingness against the conduct of interview of ICDS, Jiribam project. They alleged that the previous recruitment interview of Anganwadi workers and helpers which was held in 2014 had been into some controversies and the recent interview for the same is an injustice to the earlier selected candidates.
